Foundations For Lifelong Learning

Shaping Young Minds For Success

In Lower School (Years 7-10), students begin their discovery of themselves as learners through increasing choice and specialisation. At this stage of their education, we believe that it's important to foster a love of learning and encourage curiosity and critical thinking skills. Our curriculum is designed to provide a solid foundation for their academic and personal growth, while also promoting social and emotional development.

The curriculum is made up of the core learning areas of Religious Education, English, Health and Physical Education, Humanities and Social Sciences, Mathematics and Science as well as option subjects.

In Year 7, students are introduced to all the option subjects to give them a taste of each before making choices in Year 8. In Year 8, students will choose a range of option subjects that will include at least two Design and Digital Technologies subjects and two Visual and Performing Arts subjects.

The range of option subjects in Years 8 and 9 include Specialised Physical Education, Outdoor Education, Metalwork, Woodwork, Electronics, Design, Digital Technologies, Computer Programming, Music, Art, Drama, Italian and Media.

We also offer specialist programs, including Specialist Band and the Explore Science and Academic Extension programs. These programs are invitational, with selection taking place in Year 7.
