Executive Assistant to the Principal

Mazenod College is a Catholic Secondary Boys Day / Boarding School conducted by the Oblates of Mary Immaculate with an enrolment of 850 boys.

Mazenod College is seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced Administration Officers for the position of Executive Assistant to the Principal.  The Executive Assistant to the Principal is responsible for providing high level administrative support to the Principal, the College Board and members of the College Leadership Team.

The Executive Assistant to the Principal ensures the accurate, confidential and timely management of executive calendars, correspondence and administration tasks. As a key liaison for internal and external stakeholders, the Executive Assistant to the Principal assists the Principal in managing communications and relevant documentation. The role also involves project and meeting support, amongst other duties for matters relating to the Principal.

A focused and organised individual with a positive attitude is required. Experience in executive support at a medium-large organisation is essential. Effective time management and communication is also key for this role, alongside tact, initiative and integrity.

Aboriginal Teacher Assistant

Ongoing Part-Time (0.5FTE) position commencing Term Two 2024

Mazenod College is a Catholic Secondary Boys Day / Boarding School conducted by the Oblates of Mary Immaculate with an enrolment of 850 boys.

Mazenod College is seeking applications from suitably qualified and trained Aboriginal Teacher Assistants to join the Learning Diversity team. The Aboriginal Teaching Assistant works with Indigenous students in the College and in the boarding community. Mazenod College has an enrolment of Aboriginal students from across the state, including boarding students from the Kimberley region and local day students.

The Aboriginal Teacher Assistant is responsible for supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) students to enhance their learning outcomes within the College. The Aboriginal Teacher Assistant achieves this by developing constructive and respectful relationships with all members of our community and supporting the holistic participation of ATSI students in the life of the College.

The successful applicant will demonstrate the flexibility to assist in both the daily operations of the College and the boarding community as working hours will be in-school time and after school in the boarding community.  The FTE is set at 0.5 including 2 days in school and 2 afternoons/evenings (4pm - 8pm) in boarding.

On appointment, the successful applicant will require a current Working with Children Check and a Western Australia Department of Education National Police History Check (NPHC).

Physical Education Teacher

Full-Time Temporary position

Mazenod College is a Catholic Secondary Boys Day / Boarding School conducted by the Oblates of Mary Immaculate with an enrolment of 870 boys.

Mazenod College is seeking applications from innovative and enthusiastic teachers to join the Health & Physical Education Department for the period 27 May to 28 June 2024 as leave replacement. The teaching load will consist of a combination of lower school PE and Health classes with the possibility of Outdoor Education classes.  The ability to teach Year 11 /12 General Physical Education is advantageous.

Drama Teacher

Mazenod College is a Catholic Secondary Boys Day / Boarding School conducted by the Oblates of Mary Immaculate with an enrolment of 850 boys.

Mazenod seeks to appoint a creative, innovative and energetic teacher of Drama to the Arts Department.  The successful applicant will have the capacity to teach Senior School ATAR/General Drama Studies.  The ability to teach in a secondary area (specifically lower school Media Studies) is desirable. 

In addition to this teaching role, the successful applicant may be offered a 2 year contract as Coordinator of Drama.  This role includes curriculum and course development, learning area administration and promoting opportunities to showcase student work and performance.

College Nurse

Mazenod College is a Catholic Secondary Boys Day / Boarding School conducted by the Oblates of Mary Immaculate with an enrolment of 850 boys including 84 Boarding students.

Applications are invited for the position of College Nurse to provide first aid services, health and policy promotion and primary prevention.  This is a full-time position working 38 hours per week, rostered on shifts Monday to Friday with the specific breakdown of hours and times worked in Boarding/Students Services to be negotiated with the Principal and/or Director of Boarding.  As this is a term time only role, the College Nurse is not required to work in student vacation periods.

The College Nurse provides quality health care to both day students and boarders, as well as first aid for emergency care or injury of staff and visitors. The role includes the provision of medical support at inter-school sporting events, monitoring of boys at risk and with special health requirements, medication administration, coordination of student immunisation programs, and maintenance of health records. The position works collaboratively with the College Leadership Team, School Psychologists, Pastoral Care and Boarding teams.

The successful applicant will have either nursing experience in a school setting, or in general practice or community nursing. You will have a genuine interest in health promotion and student welfare, experience working with adolescents, and have a kind and empathetic nature. 

The College Nurse will have an appetite for a busy but key supportive role in a dynamic educational setting and be willing to take part in opportunities for health promotion and wellbeing initiatives with both students and staff in the general College setting and Boarding community.
