Physical Education Teacher

Full-Time Temporary Position for Term 3, 2025

Mazenod College is a Catholic Secondary Boys Day / Boarding School conducted by the Oblates of Mary Immaculate with an enrolment of 870 boys.

Mazenod College is seeking applications from innovative and enthusiastic teachers to join the Health & Physical Education Department for Term Three as leave replacement. The teaching load will consist of a combination of lower school Health and Physical Education and  Specialised PE classes, and Year 11/12 General Physical Education classes.

All staff support the Oblate values and ethos of the College as well as its co-curricular activities.  Applicants must be fully supportive of the objectives and ethos of Catholic education.

Teachers who join Mazenod can expect opportunities to grow in their teaching through a whole-school teacher development programme. They will be joining a community in which families and teachers work together for the academic, social and spiritual growth of young men.

Mazenod College is a Catholic Secondary Boys Day / Boarding School conducted by the Oblates of Mary Immaculate with an enrolment of 880 boys.

Boarding Supervisor

Part time, Temporary and relief positions commencing

 

The Principal of Mazenod College welcomes applications from interested members of the community to be employed as Boarding House Supervisors in our Cebula Boarding Community.  The Boarding Supervisor is in a position of immense trust and must be committed to ensure that the safety and wellbeing of children is foremost in their decision making and actions in the performance of their role.

Boarding supervisors provide high quality supervision while maintaining appropriate behaviours when engaging with children that are consistent with College policies as well as legislative requirements.

Boarding Supervisors are an integral part of the Cebula Boarding Community and are essential to the pastoral well-being of our boarding students.  The Boarding Supervisor will promote the safety and wellbeing of children from culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds as well as children of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent.

Weekend shifts available are from 9am to 5pm or 5pm to 10.30pm.  Applications are welcome from suitable candidates who may want one or multiple shifts.  Applicants may also be interested in joining our weeknight/weekend relief pool of supervisors.

On appointment, the successful applicant must have a current and valid Working with Children Check and a Western Australia Department of Education National Police History Check (NPHC).

Teacher Assistant

Mazenod College is seeking applications from enthusiastic and suitably qualified Teacher Assistants to join our Learning Support Team. The position is part time at 2 days per week during school terms (0.4 FTE).  The days to be worked will be discussed at the point of interview.

This role will suit candidates who are passionate about learning, childhood development and provide excellent pastoral care of students. The successful candidate will have a passion for providing pastoral and educational support to lower-secondary aged students. 

The following essential criteria applies to the position:

  • To hold an Education (Teachers’) Assistant Certificate qualification from a recognised education institution.
  • Current Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and Working with Children Check (WWC)
  • Experience working with Upper-Primary/Lower-Secondary students
  • Sound oral and written communication skills, including the ability to interact with students, parents and teaching professionals
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively as a member of a team

Arts Administration Officer

Full-time, ongoing position commencing

The Arts Administration Officer performs a range of administrative tasks to support staff and students within the Arts Department and to facilitate an environment for the delivery of Arts education programs, co-curricular and extra-curricular events.  Administrative duties within The Arts Department include the management of the instrumental program, assisting with the organisation of Music and Drama based special events and assisting with co-curricular and extracurricular programs.

The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal, communication and organisation skills and demonstrate a keen interest in the fields of Music, Drama and Visual Art within an educational setting.  

The successful applicant will work Monday to Friday during school terms only, that is 40 weeks per year.

On appointment, the successful applicant will require a current Working with Children Check and a Western Australia Department of Education National Police History Check (NPHC).
