Our Approach To
Wellbeing

Building Resilient Students

At the heart of our mission at the College is our unwavering commitment to pastoral care. We recognise that promoting positive wellbeing is essential to creating a conducive learning environment for our students. We are dedicated to creating a safe and supportive environment that fosters positive relationships, resilience and mental health and understand that a student's emotional and mental wellbeing directly impacts their ability to learn, build relationships and cope with daily challenges.

The College Strategic Plan seeks to promote wellbeing by inspiring our boys to be courageous and enthusiastic in all their endeavours as we strive to develop resilient young men with healthy minds and bodies. To achieve this, we implement evidence-based positive interventions that are designed to promote resilience, confidence and a sense of purpose among the young men we teach.

Our interventions include a range of preventative tools such as mindful meditation, identifying and using strengths, acts of service and exploring gratitude. These tools have been proven to positively influence the thoughts, emotions and behaviours of our students, helping them to develop a strong sense of self and a positive outlook on life.

Fostering Wellbeing In Partnership With Parents

Parents play an essential role in building confident, resilient young men who are willing to be positive contributors to their communities. To assist parents in this important task, we provide clear, fact-based information on the many challenges faced by today's youth. We understand that topics such as youth anxiety, depression, self-harm, drug and alcohol use and cyberbullying can be difficult to navigate, which is why we offer guidance and support to parents every step of the way.
