The Adventure Begins!

Boarding life for our boys begins well before they leave home. It’s not always easy to start at a new school, let alone a boarding school. We recognise this and work with families to ensure that we can dispel any concerns, making the lead up to joining us, one of excitement and anticipation of the life changing experience that awaits.

Our Boarding Ready program, designed for students entering Year 7 or Year 8, helps build friendships and connections between students before they move into boarding. The online program uses a range of initiatives to engage the boys in conversations and activities to help them get to know each other prior to the Orientation Day and Sleepover.

Boarding Ready begins up to 6 months prior to the boys commencing at the College and involves significant staff who will feature in the boy’s day to day life as a boarder. The program also allows for the promotion of academic readiness and reassures new students and their parents about the boarding journey they are about to embark on.

Boys joining us in other year groups are also well catered for prior to their arrival to ensure a smooth transition to residential life at Mazenod.
